Sk’elep—Coyote in Secwepemctsin(Salish pronunciation: [ʃəxwəpməxtˈʃin]), the language of the Secwepemc- (shə-WHEP-əm), the people of the Interior. Coyote was an important figure in Secwepemc stories. Coyote assisted the people by being a change maker who could magically change form. Coyote often used himself as an example of how to live with intention, helping people realize the impacts of their actions to transform their thinking.

WHY HIRE SK’ELEP
The Truth and Reconciliation Commission published 94 “calls to action” urging all levels of government-federal, provincial, municipal and aboriginal to work together to change policies and programs in a concerted effort to repair the harm caused by residential schools, moving forward towards reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples. Before changing policies, we first move towards understanding the true history of Canada. We work towards confronting hidden biases. We address power imbalances and played out stereotypes.
Sk’elep will support your business, organization or school on their journey towards reconciliation, as you gain important knowledge before implementing policy change. Sk’elep will provide the education necessary to move your business into successful relationships with Indigenous Peoples without barriers. Indigenous Peoples make up the fastest growing demographic of the Canadian population, marking a substantial contribution to economic growth. Sk’elep will give you and your employees the tools required to ensure an a mutually beneficial relationship with First Nations.
